Use of this website

By using this website, you accept these terms and conditions in full. If you disagree with these terms and conditions or any part of these terms and conditions, you must not use this website.

You must not use this website in any way that causes, or may cause, damage to the website or impairment of the availability or accessibility of the website; or in any way which is unlawful, illegal, fraudulent or harmful, or in connection with any unlawful, illegal, fraudulent or harmful purpose or activity.

Personal Information

In order to provide you with the highest standard of psychiatric care, Dr Stefan will need to collect and record personal information from you that is relevant to your current situation. This information will be a necessary part of your assessment and treatment that is conducted.

Confidentiality

All personal information gathered during the provision of the psychiatric service will remain confidential and secure except when:

  • 1. It is subpoenaed by a court or
  • 2. If failure to disclose the information would place you or another person at risk; or
  • 3. Your prior approval has been obtained to exchange information and provide written reports to another professional or agency, e.g. a health professional other that the referring GP, a lawyer, school.

Details of your problem will only be discussed with your referring medical practitioner in order to provide a collaborative treatment for you.

Dr Stefan does not provide Family Court work as part of her practice.

Fees

The cost of a session depends on the type and duration of your appointment, which is guided by Medicare and Australian Medical Association recommendations and is payable on the day of the consultation. The full schedule of fees is available on request. Fees are reviewed every year.

Fees are not refundable.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations and rescheduling require at least 48 hours notice. Late cancellations and non-attendances will be invoiced, unless there are exceptional circumstances. It is recommended to discuss your circumstances with the office in such case.

Emergency situations

Due to the nature of our work, sometimes there may be delays in receiving any messages left. Please do not use text messages. If the matter is urgent please call either your referring doctor; the emergency ward of your nearest public hospital, Acute Response Team at PMH (1800 048636) or Crisis Care (9223 1111).
